I hold a PhD degree in Educational Sciences, as well as an MA & a BSc in English Language Teaching (ELT), all from the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey.

I began my career in 1989 as a language instructor at the Turbo-British Association. The following year, I joined the School of English Language Teaching at Bilkent University, where I worked for approximately 12 years, taking on various responsibilities in both pre-sessional and in-sessional English language programmes. In 2002, I joined Bilkent University’s Graduate School of Education at Bilkent University. Since then, I have been teaching graduate-level courses and have held several administrative position.

Currently, I serve as Director of
MA in Teaching English as Foreign Language (TEFL) program, and the Director of the Teacher Education Program. In addition, I serve as Assoc. Dean of Faculty of Education, and Asst. Director of the Graduate School of Education.

My research interests include education policy, English for Academic/Specific Purposes, language teacher education, and critical literacy.
