Director’s Message
Welcome to Teacher Education program at the Graduate School of Education, Bilkent University.
The program is devoted to preparing teachers to educate the next generation of learners, and advancing teaching and learning through research.
It offers
- a solid academic background in the area of Curriculum and Instruction through an MA program with thesis,
- a teacher education program leading to a teaching certificate in the areas of Mathematics, English, Biology, and Physics in particular,
- an International Baccalaureate Educator Certificate in teaching and learning, which gives the opportunity of exploring the principles and practices associated with the IB Diploma Programme.
The program is designed to prepare practitioners with a scholarly mindset through its rigorous academic curriculum focusing on research. It also provides a robust professional preparation process for cultivating student-centered globally-minded teaching, developing collegial relationships, and promoting teacher agency. This unparalleled process includes experience at a variety of prestigious schools at local, national and international level.
Guided by its commitment to providing service, and learning from practice, the program works cooperatively with prestigious partner schools, and leading national and international education organizations.
